If you haven’t already, and you’re on twitter, you should start following UX Yoda. All geeks seem to like to affiliate themselves with Star Wars, Pirates and Ninjas but Yoda seems quite a good match with User Experience… so long as he doesn’t come out with “No! Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try.” in a user research session.

Anyway, here are a few of UX Yoda’s best quotes so far:

  • Strive for “better” not “new” and innovate you will.
  • User error it may be. But your responsibility it is.
  • Drawing conclusions from data without first understanding that what drives your users. A path to the dark side this is.
  • A UX team your entire company is.
  • Waterfall, agile. These things mater not. Focus on product not process.
  • Powerful is a product that does one thing well. Like Death Star yes. Mmmahahmmm.

Somehow this kind of zen like, slightly inane advice seems more palatable when it comes from Yoda’s green lips instead of Seth Godin’s!

Ha! I like it, but I think you need to temper such zen wisdom with some UX Homer:

    - Homer no function beer well without
    - If you don’t like your job you don’t strike. You just go in every day and do it really half-assed
    - If something is wrong with your design, blame the guy who can’t speak English

Lol. A Darth Vader or Voldemort slant would be entertaining too!
